My wife & I recently did the Landmannalaugar - Þórsmörk trek, with Kolla as guide & Klemenz as support/driver.
Kolla has a wealth of information about the history, geology, flora
& fauna of the area, as well as many appropriate folk tales to
entertain us. She is also very patient & calm, an excellent cook,
& has a warm & friendly personality (& sang very nicely for
us, in the Song Cave) - all of which made the trek (inspite of some
demanding weather) a very special experience. Klemenz has a great sense
of humour, also works very hard & makes an excellent traditional
lamb soup (with a separate pot of excellent vegetable soup for the
grænmetisæta in the group).
Not only is Iceland the most amazing place to visit, & this
particular trek even more visually astounding than I could have ever
imagined, but Kolla & Klemenz are superb ambassadors for the country
& your company. A huge "Thank you" to both of them!
