Departures: Every day all year at 12:00 - except Dec 24th and 25th, and Jan 1st

Duration: 3 - 3,5 hours in total, 2,5 to 3 hours on the ice

Minimum Age: 10 years

We provide: Guiding services, ice gear and safety equipment.

You bring: Warm clothing, rain gear and hiking boots.

Pick up: Car park at the foot of the Sólheimajökull glacier 15 minutes before departure

Glacier Tour from Sólheimajökull

The Sólheimajökull glacier tongue extends from the great Mýrdalsjökull glacier, down to the sandy plains of the Icelandic south coast. The spectacular surroundings are marked by rugged and majestic rock formations thoroughly shaped by the glacier. This is an easy walk on crampons up onto the ice field where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses await your discovery. From the beginning of the tour an experienced glacier guide will teach you how to use basic ice equipment, crampons and ice axe required for your trip into this magical frozen world.

Return pick up available from Skógar (Fossbúð Resturant/Shops) to Sólheimajökull car park from July 1st to August 15th 30 minutes prior to departure

We are back and readjusting to life again. We did have a great time in Iceland. We have nothing but great things to say to our family and friends about the trip. The activities and people are so great. We had a great day with you and James on the glacier. We voted this as our favorite excursion.
