Alpine Ski Touring is rapidly becoming a popular sport in Iceland. Many people are realizing that they can combine their two hobbies, climbing mountains and skiing.
Objectives:
The course is an introduction to alpine touring and the endless possibilities such skiing offers in the back country of Iceland. Besides introducing the appropriate equipment for off piste skiing, the whys and hows. At the end of the course attendants should be equipped with the knowledge to take a alpine skitrip on their own in the mountains.
The Course:
The duration of the course is one evening (28th Mars 2012) and one day in the mountains (31st Mars 2012).
