Gunnar Atli Hafsteinsson

Position: Glacier-Guide Hard Ice Level II + Mountain Skills PRO and Summit II.

Education: G.Atli is educated as an architect from Germany. When returning to Iceland he enrolled into one of the local rescue teams where he got his basic mountaineering training. Atli also has a valid Wilderness First Responder certification and holds a professional drivers license. The years spent in Germany also make him a expert in drinking beer at room temperatures.

Specialization: During winter, autumn and spring G.Atli will spent his time guiding on either Sólheimajökull or around Skaftafell. In summer he makes use of his German skills and guides on multi day tours all over Iceland. G.Atli is also a very good skier and is currently working towards fulfilling the IMG standards for ski-guides.
