Stefan Johannes van Nierop

Position: Glacier-Guide Hard Ice Level I + Hnukur II (a special course for guiding on Hvannadalshnúkur).

Education: Stefan has a degree in guiding from the Icelandic tourist guide institute and through this he has his Wilderness First Responder qualification. In additions he has a degree in computer science from his native country Holland. As a Hollander he is fluent in Dutch as well as English and Icelandic. Stefan has a professional driver’s license.

Specialization: You are most likely to find Stefan guiding on the hard ice on Sólheimajökull or around Skaftafell. In addition to his glacier work he will lead Dutch groups around Iceland for IMG. His outstanding talents for organizing are also utilized by IMG where he takes responsibility for the maintenance on our fleet of cars and other equipment. His computer knowledge also often comes in handy.
