Tayo hails from Amsterdam but has lived in Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and France. He has a Master’s degree in Glaciology from the University of Iceland. He was able to do some amazing research on subglacial waterflow under Breiðamerkurjökull, but he wanted to be out on the glacier more often. Guiding seemed like an obvious next step.
After finishing his Master’s in 2015, he joined the IMG team. When he is not working, you can find him trekking in remote areas (by foot in summer and by Norwegian mountain skis in winter), especially in through glaciated areas. Patagonia, Nepal, Norway and Iceland are some of his favorite areas, and he tries to be outdoors as much as possible. However, science still has a special place in his heart. Tayo’s favorite place is anywhere in the wild, but countries with fjords are the best.
