  • Tour Description

The Wilderness First Responder [WFR] is the golden standard the world over in first-aid education for outdoor professionals. Icelandic Mountain Guides have sins 2015 worked with NOLS USA in the very best in first aid education to Reykjavík Iceland.

The WFR course is designed to provide you with the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning.

Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.

All courses are taught by highly skilled instructors from NOLS Wilderness Medicine and in English – it is safe to say that a higher quality of teaching and first aid education will be hard to find!

Top-notch instructors, lots of hands-on practical scenarios and great facilities! The ten days passed quickly and I had so much fun, the certification was almost secondary by the end of the course. Thanks, David and Jared for being such awesome instructors, and Ívar for making it all possible.

I just completed the ten-day Wilderness First Responder course organized by Icelandic Mountain Guides last week and I could not have been any happier. Organization and information by Ívar beforehand was great. There were 31 people in our class and two stellar NOLS instructors flew in from the US to teach us. [...]
