  • Tour Description

    Adventurous multi-activity package from Reykjavík for nature enthusiasts!

    This package offers an adventurous and sporty way of exploring Icelandic nature in only three days! Each day you will set out from Reykjavík for an outdoors adventure and return back to your accommodation in the city for the evening. You start your exploration of the wonders of Icelandic nature by visiting one of the many lava caves in the Bláfjöll mountain range and then enjoy a natural bath in the warm stream in Reykjadalur, or Smoke Valley. Next day, the Fimmvörðuháls Volcano Hike takes you on a demanding hiking day tour through spectacular nature and exciting geological features; between two glaciers, onto and over recently formed lava, and passing by the two new craters Magni and Móði. The third day tour takes you on the famous Golden Circle route with visits to Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir and ending with snorkeling in Silfra in the national treasure of Thingvellir Park.

  • Tour Itinerary

    Day 0: Arrival at your accommodation. Night in Reykjavík.

    Day 1: Pick up at your accommodation for the day tour “Hot Springs and Lava Cave” at 11:30 The tour begins with a caving in the Bláfjöll mountains and then heads over to Reykjadalur Valley for a hot spring hike. Night in Reykjavík.
    Duration: 7 hours total, 4 hours hiking.

    Day 2: Today you will hike over the  Fimmvörðuháls pass from Skógar to Þórsmörk on one of Iceland’s most popular hikes. You will be picked up at 07:00 at your accommodation (note that the pick-up is with a Reykjavík Excursion bus), and head east to Skógar. There you start you ascent along the river Skógá. The trail then continues between two glaciers to the volcanic craters of Magni and Móði, formed in 2010. Heading down into Þórsmörk we enjoy amazing views over this glacier valley and the surrounding mountains. Night in Reykjavík.
    Duration: 17 hours total, 8 - 10 hours hiking.

    Day 3: Pick up for your Golden Circle and Snorkeling tour. This is a tour that takes you to the highlights of the Golden Circle and allows you to experience the thrill of snorkeling in the blue clear water of the Silfra fissure in Þingvellir. Arrival back in Reykjavík may vary a little bit. Night in Reykjavík .
    Duration: 9 hours total, 2 hours sightseeing and ~2 hours snorkling.

    Please note: You need to bring warm clothing, long underwear and thick socks for the snorkeling.
    Non-swimmers and pregnant women are not allowed on this tour.
    Participants need to be at least 150 cm tall - please let us know your size on booking.
    Participants 18 years and younger need to be accompanied by an adult that signs the liability waiver.

    Boots and Clothing:

    • Light hiking boots.
    • Thermal underwear – Wool or synthetic. 
    • Wind and waterproof jacket and pants.
    • Hiking pants.
    • Gloves.
    • Warm socks.
    • Warm hat.
    • Extra warm jacket / parka for cold days (winter).

    Other gear:

    • Small backpack for clothes and items used during the day – 20L (1200 cu in).
    • Sunglasses and sun protection (summer & spring). 
    • Water bottle. 
    • Casual clothes / change of clothes.
    • Prescription medication and other personal health items.
    • Toiletries; Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap etc.
    • Swim suit (depends on tour).

    Optional gear:

    • Walking pole(s). 
    • Sun/rain Hat or a Cap. 
    • Camera, spare batteries and a memory card or films.
