Olga was born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland but has lived in Norway for 4 years. The first year was spent studying at the Lýðháskóli/Folkehögskule and during the other three she finished her Bachelor’s in Outdoor Education. She loves being outside and has a passion for getting other people out into nature as well. She truly believes that being outdoors is good for everyone’s mental and physical health.
After finishing her bachelor’s degree, she saw an ad looking for glacier guides from Icelandic Mountain Guides and she applied. Olga figured it would be the perfect way for her to spend time outside and help others to appreciate the amazing nature that we have. She has been a member of the IMG team since Spring 2014. Before becoming a guide, she worked as a factory worker in an aluminum factory, a server in a hotel restaurant, an assistant lumberjack and a store manager. She likes almost any outdoor activity but she really enjoys skiing, climbing, kayaking, and hiking. Olga’s parents have a small summerhouse in a tiny town in the Norwegian westfjords. She feels it is the most peaceful place in the world. She loves to travel and plans on conquering the world little by little.
