Hanka is from the Czech Republic but has barely lived there. She has mostly lived in Austria and in Iceland. In Austria, she usually spent winters working as a ski instructor and in between the ski seasons, she enjoys the Icelandic summer and fall. Because she spends the winters outside, she thought it might be nice to spend the summers outdoors as well. This is her first season with IFLM, but her fourth time in Iceland.
Apart from glacier guiding, she is also a ski instructor. She started teaching at home in CZ, then settled in Austria, but also paid a visit to a Japanese ski resort for couple of weeks where she taught Japanese school kids. She has done some rafting and canoe instructing, but is not so keen on that anymore because she prefers frozen water nowadays. Hanka has her Hard Ice Guide qualification and Glacier Skills One and her favorite place in Iceland is Snæfellsness.
