Jonni has lived in Reykjavík, Iceland his whole life. Working outdoors, using his rope skills and showing people the beautiful Icelandic nature are what motivated him to become a guide. His first season with Icelandic Mountain Guides was in 2012. When he is not working, you can find him bouldering and rock or ice climbing. He has a BSc in mathematics and is now an engineering student. Some of his favorite places in the world are the Skaftafell and Öræfi area.
He feels that Morsárdalur is amazing and that Hnappavellir has the best climbing in Iceland. Outside of Iceland, one of his favorite places is the Greek Island, Kalymnos, famous for its rock climbing. Jonni’s bucket list consists mainly of climbing areas to visit. In Europe, he wants to go to Rodellar, Siurana, Albarracin, Oliana, and Margalef in Spain; Frankenjura in Germany; Fontainbleu in France; and Ösp in Slovenia. Other places in the world he would like to visit are Red River gorge, Rifle, Yosemite and Squamish the U.S.A; Ha long bay and Railey beach in Asia.
