Mao born Polish travelled in her early adult years to Iceland where she fell in love with Icelandic language as well as the landscape. She followed her heart and at Sorbonne University in Paris started Icelandic faculty in 2005. Two years later she was already pursuing her passion as a guide in Iceland. Nowdays she studies creative writing at the University of Iceland alongside with working within theatre field and design. In 2013 she was certified as an icelandic park ranger. Every summer she comes back to her source of energy which is Fjallabak syðri (south part of Fjallabak Nature Reserve).
