Rob Askew

Guide

Hailing from Britain originally, Rob has been living in Iceland since 2014 studying and teaching, and joined IMG in summer 2017. He's spent the last 10 years of his life as a lab technician, PhD student, teacher, field assistant and as part of the Civil Defense volcano monitoring team. That's a lot of studying, researching and philosophising, but he also finds plenty of time to climb and ski accompanied by Pippin, the trusty hound. It's the love of the outdoors and all that study of geology that led him to become a guide, and it provides him with an escape from office and lab work! When the weather's too bad to go out, he enjoys knitting, and his favourite place in Iceland is the area around Öræfi and Hornafjörður.
