Horses and Glaciers Unite for a Day Packed with Adventure

This tour begins with a 1.5 to 2 hour horseback riding tour in the spirit of the Vikings. Where you go depends on the wind, weather, and your riding experience. Following your ride on a traditional Icelandic horse, you will fill up on freshly baked bread and the soup of the day. Your adventure continues as you venture past the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano to Iceland’s 4th largest glacier, the great Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Here, you get equipped with crampons and ice axes for your Glacier Walk on the Sólheimajökull glacier ice field. Your will discover a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges, and deep crevasses, and learn about the glacier’s history. On our way back to Reykjavík, we visit the wonderful waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. This combo of riding a traditional Icelandic horse and going on a Glacier Walk in a fascinating natural surrounding, is sure to delight all who experience it.
