Magnificent Winter Landscapes Along The South Coast of Iceland

This is all-inclusive winter break takes you to the most attractive areas in Iceland’s south and south east. As we head east to Skaftafell in Vatnajökull’s National Park, our route takes us first to the famous Geysir hot spring and the  magnificent Gullfoss waterfall. Continuing along the south coast of Iceland, we visit beautiful black sand beaches, waterfalls, museums, and the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano visitor centre. There, you will learn everything about the notorious 2010 eruption.

At the Skógar folk museum, you will view artifacts that show how Icelandic people lived and survived in the past. Once in the Skaftafell/Vatnajökull area, our days are a mixture of nature and culture. During hikes, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over glaciers, stop at the glacier lagoon, with its amazing icebergs, and visit farms for a glimpse of the local culture. At night, we do our best to find and enjoy the dramatic Aurora Borealis. On a chosen evening we will venture out to hunt for the mysterious Northern Lights in the winter sky. After each adventure filled day, you will enjoy a delicious Icelandic dinner and relax in a quaint and comfortable country hotel.
