Our HR director Magga joined us in 2012, to cover maternity leave but we’ve kept her ever since. She is a seaside lover, having lived in Hellisandur on Snæfellsnes peninsula, Kársnes peninsula in Kópavogur, in Akureyri by the fjord and now on Álftanes peninsula. It certainly runs in the family, since her grandparents lived out on the islands in Breiðafjörður in West Iceland. She even says that she works best when she can see the sea, so it’s very fortunate that our office overlooks the bay! Outside of work Magga loves to travel, both abroad and in Iceland and her favourite place to visit here is Sellatúr, that same island that her grandparents lived on.

Magga says that humour people and the sea are things which inspire her, and her favourite movie quote is from Forrest Gump, “My momma always said, “Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”
