An Impressive Trek Through Glacier Paradise

Join us on one of Icelandic Mountain Guides’ all-time classic treks, an unforgettable journey through some of the country’s most breathtaking and least-traveled landscapes. This isn’t just a hike—it’s a true expedition into Iceland’s wild heart.

We begin in the enchanting Núpsstaðaskógur valley, climbing into the highlands beside towering canyons and cascading waterfalls. From there, the trail unfolds across lush grasslands, winds over the Eggjar Hills, and reveals jaw-dropping views of the mighty Vatnajökull icecap.

The adventure peaks with the daring crossing of Skeiðarárjökull glacier—a challenge that few ever experience. Your reward? The other worldly beauty of Norðurdalur valley, often hailed as one of the most unique places in Iceland.

The trek continues across the colorful rhyolite mountains of Skaftafellsfjöll, before descending into the dramatic Morsárdalur glacier valley and finishing in the pristine wilderness of Skaftafell, Vatnajökull National Park.

This is raw Iceland at its finest—five days of wilderness camping, glacier crossings, and landscapes so surreal they defy belief. If you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime, this trek is waiting for you.
