Snowmobile Adventure Day Tour From Reykjavík

Your adventure kicks off with your driver guide picking you up from your accommodations in Reykjavík. The scenic ride from the city to the Myrdalsjökull base camp on the South Coast, is a feast for your eyes. There are stunning waterfalls, mountains and glaciers that you will witness along the way.

After arriving at our base camp, your guide will provide you the appropriate gear for snowmobiling and go over the safety guidelines. Getting to the snowmobiles on the glacier takes a special modified vehicle. Our super-truck can easily handle the tough terrain in all weather conditions. During your snowmobiling adventure, you will have extraordinary views of the surrounding landscape and Mýrdalsjökull's vast icy field. *

On the way back to Reykjavík, you will stop at the powerful and picturesque Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. This day trip from Reykjavík is packed with adventure.

Please note: All drivers must be 17 years of age or older and have a full, valid driver's license. A learner's permit, tractor, or motorcycle license is not sufficient according to Icelandic law. No previous snowmobiling experience is required. This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 5. One child only per paying adult.

Single riders and groups with odd numbers are required to book a single ride snowmobile

Fun Snowmobile Day Tour From Reykjavík

Day tour

Pick up in Reykjavík from your accommodations. After a scenic drive, you arrive at the Myrdalsjokull base camp to get geared up and get a safety briefing. The super truck will then transfer you to the glacier. Following your snowmobile tour on the stunning Mýrdalsjökull glacier, you return to the base camp. On the way back to Reykjavík, you will visit Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls.

Practical Information

How long in advance do I need to book?

We always recommend booking as soon as you are ready, especially if you have a strict travel schedule or a large group. It is easy to change or cancel 24 hours before departure by emailing us info (at) mountainguides.is. Tours can also be purchased on the day of the activity if any spots are available.

What if my hotel is not listed in the PU selection?

You can find the nearest pick-up location. You are welcome to email info (at) mountainguides.is to get help with finding an alternative pick-up location

When does the pick up start?

The pick ups starts 30 min before your tour's departure time. Please be ready at your bus stop in time.
