Sólheimajökull glacier means ´home of the sun´ glacier and although we sometimes go a few days without seeing the sun the views are always spectacular. The glacier is changing shape every day so it can look very different from month to month and year to year. The glacier has been retreating at quite a rapid rate as shown by the lagoon in front of the glacier. 

We offer many different glacier activities at Sólheimajökull glacier on the south coast of Iceland. We have glacier walks differing in length and difficulty, as well as Ice Climbing tours, Kayaking tours and hiking tours. We also offer a combo tour which combines a glacier walk and a kayak tour so you can experience the best of both worlds.

It's about a 2 hour drive from Reykjavík to our base in Sólheimajökull. To access our base you must take road 221 off of highway 1 and drive for about 10 minutes to our base. On site we have all the gear that you will need. Your experienced guide will prepare you before the tour begins so it's important to arrive before your tour starts.
